McCaffrey's Wife Shares 4-Word Update on 49ers vs. Cowboys Injury Debut

FRISCO - San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey has yet to make his official debut this year as an Achilles injury has kept the star running back sidelined throughout the 2024 campaign.

At first the injury seemed only a minor setback before he landed on the team's injured reserve. That concerned ballooned when McCaffrey sought after treatment in Germany in September.

Now the calendar has turned to October and he has yet to return to action. Jordan Mason enjoyed the benefits of a semi-breakout campaign as the team's new starter. An injury to his shoulder has him listed as questionable for the Niners' Week 7 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

With those matters, San Francisco has suddenly grown thin at the running back position. While Mason's injury does not appear a severe issue, the Niners likely want the backfield back to its normal status.

The anticipated return for McCaffrey? Some suggest it is currently estimated to be in November. But McCaffrey is surely trying to push his way back onto the field in time for a visit from the Dallas Cowboys.

Their matchup - following this week's Dallas bye - awaits just days before the turn of the month on October 27.

This week, McCaffrey's wife took to Instagram to share a timely update on the defending honoree for Offensive Player of the Year. Model and actress Olivia Culpo shared a brief video of McCaffrey swimming in a pool along with a four-word caption about the Niners star's recent rehab.

"Flipper boy is back," she wrote.

Could the Cowboys catch a break? Cowboys fans are surely all saying the same thing here, hoping "CMC'' takes plenty of time before safely making his debut.

Both Dallas and San Francisco sit at 3-3. For San Francisco, there's little need to rush McCaffrey back, and that goes for today against the Chiefs and for the Dallas matchup as well. In the end, it seems the Cowboys are catching a break with McCaffrey still hobbled by injury. ... even though "Flipper boy is back'' seems about to be realized at some point.
