Good morning, folks! Talking about last night’s football game will not be a fun experience, so I will try to keep it brief.

But let’s keep it real first: Kentucky was embarrassed in Gainesville by a program whose head coach is sitting on a burning hot seat. The Wildcats’ usually stout defense was churned into mush by the time a couple of backup true freshmen got done with it. Quarterback DJ Lagway threw for 259 yards on just seven total completions . Five of those seven completions went for more than 40 yards. Running back Jaden Baugh looked like prime Adrian Peterson the way he racked up five touchdowns on the ground. Florida dropped 48 points against a UK defense that is statically one of the best in the country. Those numbers looked like lies last night. A season-high 476 yards and 48 points were allowed by the ‘Cats.

Barion Brown did at least make some headlines, most notably by returning a kickoff 99 yards to the house at a desperate moment for Kentucky. It marked the fifth of his career, setting the SEC record for most kickoff scores by one player. He also turned loose for a 45-yard touchdown catch. But the fun stops there. Brock Vandagriff threw for 165 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. True freshman Cutter Boley was tossed into the fire late in a blowout for reasons I still don’t understand.

Kentucky is now 3-4 on the season with a 1-4 mark in the SEC. This is one of the four worst starts to a season (record-wise) in the Mark Stoops era. With two more conference games up next in Auburn and Tennessee, it’s not going to get any easier. Stoops is looking for answers, but it doesn’t sound even he knows where to find them. UK has just six offensive touchdowns in five SEC games. Something (or lots of somethings) isn’t working.

If you can stomach it, check out all of the great content the KSR team pumped out last night. We’ll have even more coming throughout the day as we turn our attention to the Auburn Tigers.

‘Cats in the NFL: Week 7

Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis is dealing with a grade 2 AC sprain in his right shoulder, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter . He won’t play today against the Buffalo Bills and Schefter added that this injury typically keeps someone out for 4-5 weeks. We’ll have to wait and see if Levis can tough out another injury in the coming weeks, but he’ll be sidelined for at least today’s game.

    Volleyball on the road again

After sweeping Tennessee in Knoxville earlier this week, No. 15 Kentucky volleyball will look to do the same against Alabama in Tuscaloosa this afternoon. It’s the second of five straight matches on the road for the Wildcats, which hold a 10-7 overall record with a 4-2 mark in the SEC. Freshman Asia Thigpen was a star against the Volunteers with 15 kills to just one error while hitting .583 with eight digs.

Alabama also sits on a 10-7 record but with a 2-4 conference mark and a considerably weaker schedule than the Wildcats. That being said, the Tide just took down No. 25 Auburn on Wednesday. A clean and quick victory would do great for Kentucky’s resume. Today’s match begins at 3:00 p.m. EST on the SEC Network+.

    Basketball season is almost here

And to help get you ready for it, spend your morning watching five minutes worth of highlights from Friday night’s Blue-White scrimmage (or preseason event or whatever the hell you want to call it). It should help you feel a little bit better about what went down in Gainesville last night. Kentucky’s first real exhibition game is this Wednesday against Kentucky Wesleyan. The Mark Pope era is almost here, folks.
