Good morning everyone. Mild air has taken over the Northeast, Southeast, and areas of the Gulf Coast as vigorous low pressure hangs back in the Southwest, and high pressure pressure protects us from any tropical activity.

Accoriding to long range weather models, the pattern we're seeing now, will help make way for a possible very mild to warm end of October/early November. In some cases, an "Indian Summer" may be felt across areas of the Midwest, Central States, and Northeast.

An Indian Summer is when an area experiences a period of warm temperatures after having their first frost and/or hard freeze for the season. This pertains to a large swath of real esate, since we've already seen frost and freeze conditions across areas such as Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

Depending on how strong that ridge builds, we could also see some warm temps stretch into areas of Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York, which could also give them a taste of this phenomenon since they too have already experienced frost and freeze conditions.
