The first two games send the Ducks to the Midwest, where they played Nebraska last Thursday and will play Iowa today.The Huskers are in the lower third of the B1G standings - same as Oregon - so this match was a prime opportunity to get a win. Unfortunately, the Ducks let this opportunity slip out of their hands. In a way the game result was not entirely Oregon’s fault, however, as they had to deal with unusual, abnormal weather conditions, with the wind blowing at least 20 mph all game with gusts of 35 mph.Head coach Graeme Abel has preached all season about the need to win the first 30 minutes of Oregon’s matches. This game was a prime example of why coach Graeme has preached that philosophy. Nebraska had 6; it’s just that three of theirs went in the net.Oregon soccer (5-9-2, 1-6-2 Big-10) next faces #14 Iowa (12-1-3, 7-1-1 Big-10) today at 11:00 am PT in Iowa City. The Hawkeyes are third in the B1G rankings and most assuredly headed to the NCAA tournament. It’s a match that the Ducks probably won’t win, but at least one can hope that they don’t have to battle Iowa and the weather.</div></body>
