That didn’t stop fans from enjoying the game.“I’m very excited to watch the game. I’m a UT mom and I cannot wait to see the horns win,” said Libby Covington.Covington’s son is a student at the university, and she drove up from Florida to see him for the weekend and catch the UT-UGA game.“I’m watching it at Victory Lap in West Campus,” she said.Victory Lap is close to her son’s apartment she says. Ticket prices kept her family from watching the game in person.“We were not willing to pay $1,000 a ticket or $500 a ticket,” she said. “So, it’s just as much fun watching it not in the stadium.”The price point, she said, feels like something specifically attached to this weekend’s game.“I haven’t seen them that high,” she said. “Other times we’ve come we’ve been able to get tickets for a lot less.”The prices on sites like Ticketmaster were showing price points of close to $500 around 4:30 this afternoon.The UT mom says she’s not at all torn up about not being able to get tickets. She says there are those who wouldn’t mind paying those prices.“Maybe some people are upset but I think a lot of people are just willing to pay the price, too, if they’re that big of a UT fan,” she said.Texas has two home games remaining on the 2024 schedule: Nov. 9 vs Florida and Nov. 23 against Kentucky.</div></body>
