It would be nice to have bike lanes to at least get to the metro so I can commute to work. If you went to Virginia like the Roslyn or Reston area you will see a community having no problems with bike lanes and more than just folks who "just like to bike." Maybe if we had the bike lane infrastructure the rest of the community that don't drive those white vans can opt out of driving to work and instead bike to work or bike to the metro, and there goes your congestion and traffic. Again, look to local neighborhoods like Bethesda as well.
