‘We’re Going to Subpoena Their Records!’ Trump Vows Investigation Into Editing of ’60 Minutes’ Interview With Kamala Harris

Former President Donald Trump vowed an investigation into 60 Minutes ‘ recent interview with Vice President Kamala Harris — in which one of her answers was edited in controversial manner.

The controversy stems from the network’s interview with the vice president in which Face the Nation aired an advance clip showing Harris responding to a question about Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu . And then the next day, 60 Minutes aired the same clip with a more seemingly cogent response edited in.

“I’ve never seen anything like it,” Trump told Fox’s Howard Kurtz on Sunday’s MediaBuzz . “She gave a horrible, incompetent answer on a news program. It’s an entertainment program. They call it news. This is a number one news program. And so she gives an answer that was shows that she’s dumb or incompetent or something wrong with her. It’s so bad that the people at CBS say ‘we’re not going to do a little editing … They take the whole ridiculous answer out, and it was a long answer, and replace it with a much shorter answer having to do with a totally different subject, which also didn’t make sense.”

Kurtz then pressed Trump on his threat of CBS’ broadcast license.

“The head of the FCC says we would never yank a license because a politician didn’t like his or her coverage,” Kurtz said.

“They took the answer out in its entirety and they put a completely different answer in that looks that makes it look like she’s normal,” Trump said. He added, “What we’re doing is we’re going to subpoena their records because we want to see how much else did she do.”

Trump also said, “I think it’s the biggest scandal I’ve ever seen for a broadcaster in 60 Minutes. I think 60 Minutes, I think it should be taken off the air, frankly.”
