Starting November 1, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange will host a tour featuring the Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, a highly significant representation of the Virgin Mary for Southern California's Catholic community, especially among those of Hispanic heritage.

The Missionary Image is a digitally authorized reproduction of the original tilma, which dates back to 1531 and is housed at the Basilica Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. Associated with miraculous occurrences, including reports of a heartbeat emanating from the image and oil dripping from it, this touring version holds special meaning for the faithful.

The tour kicks off at Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove on November 1 and concludes at St. Vincent de Paul in Huntington Beach on November 24. Community members are invited to venerate the Image at various parishes and sites throughout the Diocese of Orange. A complete list of hosting sites can be found at www.rcbo.org/tilma.

Media are welcome to cover the veneration of the Missionary Image at Christ Cathedral on November 1 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., with interviews available from key Diocese stakeholders.
