The Boilers collectively shot +17 over the first two rounds of the White Sands Invitational in the Bahamas, shooting +7 over in the first round and +10 in the second round.

The White Sands Invitational is the final tournament for the Boilers for three months, with their next tournament starting in late January in Arizona.

Senior star Natasha Kiel is tied for the lead on the individual leaderboard, firing a 3-under 68 in round one and a 1-over 73 in round two. She carries her -2 overall score into the final round tomorrow, fighting for the win with Georgia's Chantal El Chaib, also at -2 after two rounds.

Sophomore Jasmine Kahler was heading for a 2nd place spot after round two, but after a double bogey on 16 and a bogey on 17, she dropped to 6th on the leaderboard at +3 for the tournament.

Freshman Samantha Brown shot four-over in both her rounds of play, but she is the only player in the field to record an eagle so far, recording one on the par-5 second hole. Brown is tied with fellow Boilermaker, senior Momo Sugiyama in 24th place, who recovered after an 8-over 79 in round one by shooting an even par 72 in round two.

The final team member, senior Jocelyn Bruch, has struggled throughout the tournament, shooting 81 (+10) in round one and 78 (+6) in round two, leaving her in T-48th at +16.

Despite being second of 10 teams, Purdue was the only team in the field to shoot a higher score in the second round than their first round total.

Two Boilers are competing in the tournament as individuals, their scores counted separately from the team score.

Freshman Lauren Timpf is T-31 after her first two rounds, posting a 7-over 78 in round one and a 3-over 75 in round two. Freshman Michaela Headlee is the other individual competitor, tied for 46th after posting +10 and +5 in her first and second rounds.

The final round of the tournament will be played on Monday.
