The New York Giants sought to quiet any talk of a quarterback controversy after Daniel Jones was benched during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Jones was benched for Drew Lock early in the fourth, with the Giants already trailing 28-3. Lock wound up finishing the game, though he only went 3/8 for six yards.

After the game, head coach Brian Daboll suggested the move was not a permanent benching, and that Jones remained the team’s starting quarterback.

In other words, the Giants sat Jones because of the blowout. He was not particularly good, going 14/21 for just 99 yards, but he did not commit any turnovers and received little protection.

The simple reality is that the Giants’ putrid offense probably would not look much better under Lock than it has under Jones. That said, the team may have one reason to make the change , especially if things do not turn around anytime soon.

This is a horrible, putrid , non committed football team. The season is over. The Mara’s are a disgrace. This is a n y market not North Carolina. I would cut my losses, sell my season tickets and never buy a ticket for such a losing franchise. They SUCK!!!
