Terry Bradshaw instantly proved right after telling FOX NFL Sunday crew player he loves

Terry Bradshaw lavished Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love with praise ahead of Sunday's showdown with the red-hot Houston Texans, and he duly responded by leading his team to a statement victory.

Love led his team on a clutch drive late in the fourth quarter to set up a Brandon McManus field goal as time expired, sealing a 24-22 victory at Lambeau Field. The victory improved Matt LaFleur's team to 5-2 on the season, right at the heart of the NFC playoff race.

It was far from Love's cleanest performance under center for the Packers , throwing two interceptions along the way, but he completed 23 of 32 passes for 214 yards and three touchdowns to snatch victory in a battle between two of the league's ascendant young teams.

Pittsburgh Steelers icon Bradshaw was excited by the duel between Love and Texans signal-caller C.J. Stroud, telling the "FOX NFL Sunday" panel ahead of the game to expect fireworks. And the four-time Super Bowl champion was instantly proved correct, with Green Bay and Houston (5-2) going back and forth in a thrilling game that finished with Love's team on top.

“How much fun is that going to be? I think Matt LaFleur, the head coach of the Green Bay Packers, is the happiest guy in the world," Bradshaw said ahead of kickoff. "Jordan Love, his young quarterback, kind of a gunslinger. And a guy I love to watch play. When I turn on the TV and Jordan Love is playing, I want to watch him.

“He’s got [Christian] Watson, he’s got [Rome] Doubs, he’s got Jayden Reed - three great wide receivers. How many times have you heard me say this, folks? Surround me with talent and see what I can do. They’re just doing a great job offensively in Green Bay.”

The Packers' decision to select Love with a first-round pick in 2020 was heavily criticized with Aaron Rodgers still in situ, but the move has paid of handsomely. Love led his team to the divisional round of the playoffs in his first year as a starter last season, and he has continued his impressive form in 2024.

He missed two games with a knee injury suffered on opening night in Brazil against the Philadelphia Eagles, but he has responded impressively, with 12 touchdowns against six interceptions in five starts, with a passer rating of 93.7.

Bradshaw will not have to wait long to see Love and the Packers in action again. They travel to Everbank Stadium to face the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 8 next Sunday. The Texans host AFC South rivals the Indianapolis Colts the same day.
