San Francisco 49ers star offensive tackle Trent Williams was ejected during the fourth quarter for throwing a punch against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Williams and Chiefs defensive back Bryan Cook got tangled up after a play. Cook whacked the side of Williams' helmet as he tried to get up. Williams eventually got up and unleashed a punch to the side of Cook's helmet. Cook appeared to be alright and walked away.

A pair of penalties were assessed, but Willaims was ejected. After the play, Fox analyst and NFL legend Tom Brady laughed about the situation.

"I wouldn't pick on Trent Williams," Brady said on the broadcast. "I've seen him do that a few times."

Brady also conceded he doesn't understand why players throw punches while wearing helmets.

"I don't always understand the punches to the helmet," Brady laughed. "You have a helmet on. You don't feel those too much. These tempers flare when emotions run high. These players care so much."

Kansas City emerged victorious in the Super Bowl rematch, pulling out a 28-18 win. The Chiefs overcame a surprisingly sub-par performance from Patrick Mahomes, who had just 154 yards and a pair of interceptions in the loss. He added 39 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

The Chiefs moved to 6-0 with the win, while the 49ers stumbled to 3-4.

Ok, off topic but…. I do not understand why a team is charged a time out when their player is injured on the field during a game. Why is it done in the first place & why hasn’t that ever been changed? I get it gives that team an opportunity to strategize while the injured player is being evaluated but, technically, it gives both teams a chance to strategize but only the injured players team is penalized. Seems stupid to me. Leave their time outs alone during an injury.
