Argentinian police probe staff at Liam Payne hotel as Dove soap box mystery explained

Argentinian authorities are probing two hotel staff members over allegations of supplying drugs to Liam Payne , the One Direction star who tragically fell to his death from a third-floor balcony at the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires.

The 31-year-old singer's demise is shrouded in mystery as it was reported that the duo allegedly smuggled drugs into his suite.

According to the Daily Mail, a cleaner and another employee reportedly concealed the narcotics in a Dove soap box, which was later discovered by law enforcement. The suite was found littered with white powder residue, crystals, tablets, and other drug-related items.

While the substances have been sent for testing, initial reports suggest they could be cocaine and crack cocaine. The hotel management was alerted about the suspicious activities of the two employees.

A close friend of the late star revealed to the publication: "There were two guys at the hotel that were giving Liam drugs. They sent taxis out to collect packages for him. " The source further added: "One of the guys was working in the cleaning department. After Liam died, they noticed that one taxi was sent to the cleaner's home address. The hotel manager asked him why the taxi had gone to his home and when he couldn't give an explanation he was fired. ".

They continued: "The cleaner and another member of staff have been interviewed by the police. Liam was doing everything to stay clean but as soon as he got to the hotel these people were offering him alcohol and drugs.", reports the Mirror .

Officials at Argentina's Ministry of Justice are said to have requested a comprehensive toxicological analysis before releasing the singer's body to his family in the UK. An autopsy concluded that the star succumbed to multiple severe injuries after his fall at the hotel.

Following his untimely passing, an outpouring of tributes from fans, fellow band members, and acquaintances from his X Factor days flooded in. Rebecca Ferguson, who competed alongside Liam on the show in 2010, shared: "It's always a hotel room! We both met at Euston station and shared the taxi together to X Factor. I can't help but think of that boy who was hopeful and looking forward to his bright future ahead. If he hadn't jumped on that train and jumped in that taxi I believe he would be alive today."

She added, "Rest in peace Liam, I hope you find peace on the other side and love to your mum and family x."
