    Man hospitalized after crash in Tiverton

    TIVERTON, R.I. (WPRI) — An investigation is underway after a car slammed into a utility pole in Tiverton on Sunday.

    Police say a 79-year-old man was driving on Main Road near Indian Point Road around 6 p.m. when he left the roadway for reasons unknown at this time.

    He got out of the car on his own, police said, and was brought to Rhode Island Hospital. The extent of his injuries are unknown.
