The Denver Broncos have one of the most unique owners in all of sports. Well, he's a part owner and an investor, but an owner nonetheless. No, I'm not talking about the Waltons or the Penners. I'm talking about the greatest Formula One driver of all time Lewis Hamilton.

With the Broncos having played on Thursday, and a dominant win over the New Orleans Saints, they had the Sunday off this week. That meant, we were able to watch some of the Formula One race that happened in Austin, Texas on Sunday, which featured Hamilton, as they always do, headlining the race.

He's had a ton of success in Austin, but this time was very different.

The weekends started on Friday, where he did qualifying, which is where every driver competes against one another, but not in a race format, to see who can get the fastest lap through three rounds, and every round five drivers are eliminated until the final round where the final 10 are competing against each other.

The fastest lap times determine who starts where on the grid for the race. This weekend had a feature race on Sunday, but also a sprint race on Saturday.

On Saturday, Hamilton, who has had somewhat of a rough year with Mercedes despite having two wins, didn't have a terrible race on Saturday, but definitely not the result he wanted. He finished in seventh the sprint race.

For the qualifying event that determined where he would start on Sunday for the main race, Hamilton was not able to get out of the first round and ended up finishing 19th of 20 total drivers. He started in 17th on race day due to other drivers having penalties.

On Sunday for the race, Hamilton jumped up to 12th very fast. However, he then wrecked and had to retire from the race meaning he officially finished 20th.

According to ESPN, that was Hamilton's first time not finishing a race in the U.S., and he's won six U.S. races in his career, including five wins in Austin.

It's safe to say he has had a weekend to forget. The Broncos will play the Los Angeles Chargers next.
