Columbia police close large section of Clark Lane after shooting

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police closed off a large section of Clark Lane in northeast Columbia on Sunday night after a man was shot, suffering life-threatening injuries.

Columbia Police Department spokesman Brian McNeill said police were called a little before 11 p.m. after shots were heard in the 4200 block of Clark Lane. A man was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, he said.

He said a little after 1 a.m. Monday that no suspects were in custody and that there was no threat to the public.

An officer at the McKee Street intersection told an ABC 17 News reporter that Columbia police had closed off Clark Lane from Hanover Boulevard. Emergency dispatchers had earlier sent out an alert warning the public of a police incident and to avoid the area.

ABC 17 News saw at least eight Columbia Police Department cruisers and Boone County Sheriff's Office cruisers at McKee and Clark. An ambulance was seen leaving the area.
