The Pittsburgh Steelers dominated the New York Jets on "Sunday Night Football," defeating the AFC foe 37-15.

Pittsburgh was playing in its first game with quarterback Russell Wilson under center. After starting the season 4-2 with dual-three quarterback Justin Fields, head coach Mike Tomlin and his staff decided to give Wilson a chance to see what the 35-year-old has left in the tank.

Wilson is coming off a calf injury he suffered just before the 2024-25 season. He's currently in his 13th NFL season, playing his first year with the Steelers after signing a one-year deal with the organization during the offseason.

While Fields has produced quality play for Pittsburgh throughout the first few weeks, Wilson brought a spark to the Steelers' offense that, frankly, hasn't been seen since Ben Roethlisberger retired.

In his first start with the Steelers, Wilson recorded two touchdowns and 264 yards, completing 16-of-29 pass attempts.

The offense scored a season-high 37 points and Pittsburgh even had two skill players with over 100 yards for the first time this season.

Wide receiver George Pickens finished the game with one touchdown on five receptions and 111 yards. Running back Najee Harris produced one touchdown and 102 yards on 21 carries.

Following a successful performance from Wilson and the Steelers' offense, fans could only wonder what was next for Justin Fields.

While he led Pittsburgh to a winning record early in the season, his future as a starter for any NFL franchise, let alone the Steelers, may be in question, according to some fans.

"Pittsburgh should trade Justin fields," said one fan .

"And thankfully, Russell ended the quarterback controversy tonight. You can stop talking about Justin Fields. He is not the quarterback of now. He is not the quarterback of the future." said another fan .

"i feel so bad for justin fields man but hes the future of this team," mentioned one fan .

"You have to wonder what’s next for Justin Fields’ NFL career," said one fan .

"Poor Justin Fields man. Job taken away and Russell Wilson and the offense have a great day. Everyone on the sidelines jumping around having a good time and he’s standing there not smiling because his career is coming to an end." said another fan .

"I’ve been telling everyone Russell Wilson and Mike Tomlin are going to be awesome together! Justin Fields is going to be a career back up…. He has accuracy issues that don’t seem resolvable!!!" explained one fan .

During the Steelers' 4-2 start, Fields produced five total touchdowns and 1,106 yards while throwing just one interception. He has success in moving the sticks, but the one-dimensional offense, led by the Steelers ground game, forced Tomlin to look for another option.

Fields was originally drafted with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft by the Chicago Bears.

He was destined to have a promising NFL career after showcasing his talent at Ohio State, but even with a trade form the Bears to the Steelers, Fields is still struggling to find a permanent job.

So far Fields has been a class guy, good teammate, and very professional.
