A low-pressure system, which has lingered over Arizona, will pass through southeast Wyoming, bringing a brief window of stratiform precipitation tonight. The higher peaks in the Sierra Madre Range could receive 1 to 4 inches of snow, though most precipitation will remain light. Elsewhere, dry conditions will persist through Tuesday, with highs reaching 10°F above average for this time of year.
Windy Monday Followed by Warm, Dry Weather
Winds will pick up Monday, especially in prone areas, as a lee trough develops. Gusts of 50 to 55 MPH are expected Monday night, tapering off by Tuesday. Highs on Tuesday will remain well above normal, with the Nebraska Panhandle and southeast Wyoming continuing to experience warm and dry conditions.
Extended Forecast: More Warm Days Ahead, Fire Weather Concerns Increase
After a brief dip to mid-60s on Wednesday, temperatures will quickly rebound as a weak ridge builds back into the region. Thursday and Friday will see temperatures climb into the climatological 90th percentile, keeping the Nebraska Panhandle and southeast Wyoming warmer than average.
While some winds are forecasted over the weekend, no significant precipitation is expected. The pattern remains dry, with downsloping winds contributing to elevated fire weather concerns throughout the week.
