Why are we spending the money and the energy to sequester carbon when you can plant trees that do it with just some sun and water. Or plant Giant Cane Bamboo which is native to North America last I looked it was considered an endangered species. Plant a grove of it and every 3-4 years you could cut it down turn it into biochar make Terra preta and use that as a fertilizer to grow another stand of bamboo. It would be far cheaper and better for the environment than a plant that I bet has to run on fossil fuels just to operate and it has to generate its own carbon emissions between the processes and the people driving there to work.
