V-P-D chief Jon Hillenbrand praises the City leadership itself ffor its support in years when police work in many places wasn’t highly regarded. In recent years, that support also means a significant pay increase, to keep the department’s salaries competitive. Hillenbrand credits the City’s newest tax for the ability to better take care of his men.</p><p>The City has made marked increases to both police and fire salaries to keep them from heaving for other departments, due to higher pay rates.</p></div></body>
