After a month-long investigation by <a href="https://www.facebook.com/aacopd">Anne Arundel County Police</a>, the suspect was apprehended without incident on Friday. Gomez, a 31-year-old from New York, was found shot in the mall parking lot and later died from his injuries. Police continue to seek additional information regarding the case.The annual Eastport-Annapolis Tug of War, or Slaughter Across the Water, will take place on November 2, 2024, at the crack o noon. Dubbed “the longest international tug of war over water,” the event sees Annapolis and Eastport face off across Spa Creek. The day will include live music, food, and drinks, celebrating local pride in what has become a cherished tradition since its inception in 1997. The tug of war is part of an ongoing friendly rivalry between the two communities, and both sides prepare to claim this year’s victory. They are looking for tuggers as well, so if you want to tug for the losing Eastport side or the winning Annapolis side, you can sign up at <a href="https://themre.org/">TheMRE.org</a>. The Navy Midshipmen extended their undefeated streak to 6-0 with a 51-17 victory over Charlotte. Cornerback Dashaun Peele made school history by returning two interceptions for touchdowns, while Navy’s defense forced five turnovers. The offense capitalized on these opportunities, with fullback Alex Tecza scoring three first-quarter touchdowns. Despite a low total yardage count for Navy, the defense’s dominance ensured the win, making Navy bowl-eligible for the first time since 2019. Up next…Notre Dame in New York next Saturday at noon!
