WHITE DEER TOWNSHIP — A Monroe County man was found with 350 bags of opioids and other drugs during a traffic stop on October 4th in White Deer Township, according to state police in Milton. Troopers said that 35 year old Raheem Derron Wiggins-Smith was charged with three counts of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver; and two counts of intentional possession of a controlled substance by a person not registered and possession of drug paraphernalia. Troopers said that they conducted a traffic stop at 11:05 a.m. Oct. 4 on a gold Chevrolet Malibu with Wiggins-Smith as the passenger and “factors and indicators of criminal activity were observed,” which led to a search of the vehicle. Troopers seized seven bricks of heroin and fentanyl, which was counted out to be 350 bags total; 1.1 ounces of powder cocaine; 1.4 ounces of crack cocaine; and two grams of leaf marijuana. Wiggins-Smith took sole ownership of the contraband. Wiggins-Smith also had an arrest warrant for the introduction of contraband into a prison out of Luzerne County. Wiggins-Smith was arraigned and bail was set at $50,000 unsecured.
