SOLIDARITY – A hundred brothers and sisters from around IAFF Local 2665 joined the Brentwood Professional Firefighters Oct. 7 in their struggle against a toxic city administration. Going on nearly three years of contract negotiations, the Brentwood shop is facing bad faith negotiators, refusals to discuss mandatory subjects of bargaining, and retaliatory actions toward members and representatives of the union for their efforts to better working conditions. Flanked by their fellow fire fighters, Brentwood Professional Firefighters President Murray, Executive Vice President Hogan, Brentwood resident and Local 2665 member Guy SanFilippo, and Brentwood Steward Darren Chaves all spoke out in support of the Brentwood fire fighters at the board of aldermen meeting. “Thank you to our members for the awesome showing of support,” the union posted on its Facebook page. “If you know any Brentwood residents, please encourage them to reach out to their aldermen to get our fire fighters the workers’ rights they deserve.” – IAFF 2665 photo.
