HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — South Texas Health Systems and STHS clinics are launching a program called South Texas Healthy Living.

The goal is to raise breast cancer awareness, especially during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The program will feature Dr. Martha Cano who will discuss breast cancer risk factors, types, and prevention strategies. It will also include personal stories, such as a woman who had breast cancer twice, emphasizing the importance of early detection, which has a 99% success rate if detected early.

The program will air on Oct. 26 and 27 on KGBT 4.1 at 11 a.m. and will cover exercise, cooking, and prevention tips, including maintaining a healthy weight, limiting alcohol, and avoiding smoking.
