CONEY ISLAND — TWO RESCUED SOUTHERN SEA OTTERS HAVE MADE THEIR PUBLIC DEBUT AT THE NEW YORK AQUARIUM after finding their new home there last month. The two female pups join the aquarium’s long-standing resident, Quint, a 12-year-old rescued otter, according to the Aquarium. The pair, named Pumpkin and Clover, were rescued as pups in California, with one discovered when she was less than a day old. After being deemed unfit to return to the wild, the otters were given care at various accredited zoos and aquariums before arriving in Coney Island last month.The trio of otters now reside in the aquarium’s Sea Cliffs exhibit, entertaining guests with their playful behaviors.
