    Over $3k stolen in credit card fraud, Champaign Co. Crime Stoppers seeking tips

    CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — The Champaign County Crime Stoppers is asking the public to help identify two suspects involved in a theft and credit card fraud.

    On Oct. 6, two suspects stole a wallet from a victim who was shopping at Costco on Neil Street in Champaign.

    According to Crime Stoppers, within minutes, the suspects used the victim’s credit cards to buy over $3,300 worth of gift cards and electronics from Best Buy.

    Police said the suspects appeared to be a Black male and Black female. The man was described as wearing a white hat, a white long sleeve shirt and blue jeans. The woman was described as wearing a black hat, white t-shirt and black sweatpants that had a white stripe on the side. Both suspects were wearing masks.
