Bynum presented the City Star Award of Safety Excellence and the Michael P. Kier Tulsa Blue Award to several City of Tulsa employees."I am honored to recognize these employees for their hard work, dedication and commitment to the City of Tulsa," said Mayor Bynum. "Felix, Kaiden, and Bill all showed an exceptional commitment to safety and service to others that deserves to be recognized. Both Brooke and Tony have gone above and beyond in their roles and the outcomes have been invaluable to the city."Felix Solorzano, Kaiden Taylor and Bill Mefford were all presented with the City Star Award.Felix Solorzano is a member of the Water and Sewer Department.Solorzano was recognized for reacting quickly to an emergency and preventing further harm and damage.Kaiden Taylor and Bill Mefford are also members of the Water and Sewer Department.They were recognized for their actions and situational awareness.City Star is a City of Tulsa safety awards and recognition program which recognizes employees for their efforts to improve safety culture at the City of Tulsa.Brooke Caviness and Tony Glynn were both awarded the Michael P. Kier Tulsa Blue Award.Caviness was recognized for going above and beyond in her responsibilities since her promotion in 2023 to Design Engineering Manager in the Water and Sewer Department.Glynn was recognized for going above and beyond to help complete designs and to achieve number Utility Conflict clearances.Tulsa Blue is an employee recognition program that honors City of Tulsa employees who go above and beyond the execution of their duties in serving their coworkers and Tulsa citizens.The award is named after longtime City of Tulsa employee Michael P.
