By increasing police presence in key areas, the city aims to reduce accidents and promote safer driving practices.The 2025 Joining Forces initiative runs from Oct. 1, 2024 through Sept. 30, 2025, and underscores the City of North Las Vegas' strategic goal for community safety by promoting a secure environment for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists alike. As the city implements these enhanced measures, it remains focused on building a community where everyone can safely traverse North Las Vegas roadways.Specific grant funding includes:<ul><li>$54,900 to address impaired driving through directed enforcement, including DUI checkpoints and collaborations with other local law enforcement agencies.</li><li>$97,000 to address speeding violations and to increase awareness of pedestrian safety and decrease pedestrian fatalities through high visibility enforcement efforts. Officers will have an increased presence at busy pedestrian intersections, crosswalks and other areas as needed.</li><li>$171,500 as part of the OTS Joining Forces Grant to fund participation in statewide, multi-jurisdictional traffic enforcement events focused on reducing fatalities and serious injury crashes in Nevada. The effort also funds enhanced enforcement of safety belt laws, speed enforcement laws and pedestrian safety, and works to reduce distracted and impaired driving through Selective Traffic Enforcement Programs, saturation patrols and checkpoints.</li></ul></div></body>
