Gradual Warming Trend Expected for Inland Areas of Southern California

The National Weather Service in San Diego has announced a gradual warming trend for inland areas through Wednesday, with daytime high temperatures projected to be 5 to 10 degrees above average. While coastal areas will see relatively stable temperatures, night and morning low clouds are expected to return later in the week, possibly as early as Wednesday morning.

Today's weather features variable high clouds, with temperatures similar to yesterday's along the coast and slightly warmer inland. A gentle sea breeze has developed west of the mountains, supported by weak offshore pressure gradients.

The high-pressure system in the Great Basin will maintain fair weather through midweek, resulting in the warmest conditions on Wednesday. Following this warm spell, temperatures are expected to remain relatively unchanged from Thursday to Saturday before dipping a few degrees for Sunday and Monday.

As the week progresses, a larger low-pressure trough moving into the Pacific Northwest could lead to noticeable cooling, stronger onshore winds, and a deeper marine layer, which may bring low clouds and fog further inland.
