New artist market, pottery studio to open in Lehigh Valley

A new artist market and showcase will offer locally made gifts, original artwork, art supplies and a pottery studio when it opens at Promenade Saucon Valley in Upper Saucon Township this week.

The art space, Smartivities Showcase, will hold a public grand opening on Friday at 5 p.m., between Elite Salons & Suites and The Promenade Pop-Up Shop . The ribbon cutting ceremony will later occur at 6 p.m.

Attendees can also use a pottery painting service and try for prizes such as coupons and free classes.

It’ll be the second location from founder April Khallil, who originally started the business at 60 Centre Square in Easton .

“We were happy to find that we were welcomed with open arms into this thriving lifestyle center with so many opportunities for growth,” Khallil said in a news release. “I decided to open a location here to expand our current offerings of art and pottery classes. We are continuing our Artist Market and will still feature our handmade arts and crafts in addition to focusing on our activities and art enrichment where access is more available and convenient to our students.”
