    STOVER GOLFERS THIRD AFTER DAY ONE

    The Stover Bulldogs are sitting tied for third after Day One of the MSHSAA Class One state girls golf championship in Farmington.

    The Bulldogs have a score of 389, 22 strokes behind South Harrison and tied with Greenwood Lab of Springfield. Brooklyn Black is leading Stover with 88, presently eighth, while Mia Rowland is 15th with a 92. Macie Harman of Cairo is in the top 20, tied for 18th with a 93. Rylee Allred of Ash Grove currently leads all golfers with 71, five strokes ahead of second. Meanwhile, Harrisburg is seventh in the team standings with a 431, with Charlotte Canote leading the way with a 96.

    At the Class Two tournament in Nixa, Chillicothe entered the clubhouse with a 426 score, placing the Hornets in eighth. Gracelynn Barnett is tied for 28th with a 99. Among area golfers, Karagyn Cooper of Boonville has an 85, currently good for ninth. MICDS has a 12-stroke lead for the Class Two title, while Morgan Nute of Wright City has a one-strike advantage for the individual title with a 75.

    At the Class Three tournament in Springfield, Lillie Mannering of Warrensburg is tied for sixth individually with a 79, while teammates Marissa Kennish scored 105 and Avrie Fox has a 107. Breanna Mach of Marshall is in 28th with a score of 87. Glendale is leading the team standings with a 333 score, 28 ahead of cross-town rivals Springfield Central. Glendale have the current individual leader, as Page Bowman has a score of 69, three better than Addy Davis of Kirksville.

    And in Cape Girardeau at the Class Four tournament, Smith-Cotton’s Charlotte Fischer is in a tie for 28th with an 87. Teammate Hannah Lowman is three strokes behind, ranked 42nd. Visitation Academy lead the team standings with a 318, 11 strokes ahead of St Joseph’s Academy, while Kate Ryan of Tolton Catholic and Makenna Casey of Park Hill South are tied for the individual lead with a 74.
