    Valley Turkey Trot registrations open for 18th annual race

    SAYRE, Pa. ( WETM ) — The 18th annual Guthrie Turkey Trot is almost a month away, and registrations are open for the local tradition.

    Guthrie is reminding area residents that registrations are open for participants to join in the largest 5K run in Bradford County on Thanksgiving morning.

    The race starts at the Sayre Theater at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28. All money raised during the event goes to the Guthrie Cancer Care Fund, designed to help Guthrie cancer patients facing financial hardships.

    If you’re looking to sign up for the Turkey Trot you can visit Guthrie’s website . The registration deadline for the event is Nov. 22, but Guthrie said to be guaranteed a Turkey Trot T-shirt you need to register by Oct. 25.

    Last year’s event took in more than $65,000 , which set an event record, and featured around 1,100 runners.
