Realty group celebrates annual Turkeys for Teachers

HARLINGEN, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — Daniel Garza from DTM Realty Group stopped by the ValleyCentral Studio to discuss the eighth annual “Turkeys for Teachers” event, to show appreciation for educators.

“For the past eight years, we’ve been working with teachers and had the opportunity to get to know them, their families, and of course, you know what they do during the school year for the kids,” said Garza.

The events will be held on Nov. 2 in Lyford, Nov. 9 in Edinburg, and Nov. 16 in Harlingen at the Bert Ogden dealerships which will provide turkeys, food, drinks, and raffle prizes to teachers and their families.

This year, a “Teacher of the Year” award is introduced, with a weekend getaway at Margaritaville at South Padre as the prize.

The event is Valley-wide and aims to alleviate some of the financial burdens teachers face.
