    Mobile police arrest 2 after storage unit break-in

    MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — Officers with the Mobile Police Department arrested a man and woman after they were allegedly found breaking into a storage unit at a local facility.

    According to an MPD news release, officers were called to Storage Rentals of America around 1:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, for a burglary report.

    Officers arrived and said they found multiple suspects still at the location. According to the release, officers found that the suspects had broken into a storage unit and had stolen items.

    INCIDENT LOCATION:

    49-year-old Jerry Layton Slater and Wanda Vivian Layton were arrested. Both were charged with third-degree burglary.

    Police said more arrests are possible, and the investigation remains active.
