HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) —  A Hartford woman was arrested on an active warrant after driving an uninsured car and eluding a traffic stop in early September.

Summer Forbes, 32, was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, improper use of registration plates, illegal operation of a motor vehicle without minimum insurance, reckless driving, disobeying a signal of an officer, failure to drive upon the right side of the road, failure to obey traffic control signals, interfering with an officer and reckless endangerment in the second degree.

Fobes was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

According to police, on Sept. 2, police conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 84 East near Exit 48 off-ramp in Hartford for a 2007 Infiniti FX35 that was seen negotiating a right curve and veering left nearly hitting the concrete traffic barrier on the left side of the roadway.

The car stopped on the right lane at a red light at the intersection of the off-ramp and Capitol Avenue.

When police ran the plate, it showed a misuse of registration plates and no known insurance.

Forbes told police she was traveling home from a restaurant and she had no insurance and her car was not registered.

Police then issued an infraction to Forbes and told her the car would be towed and the registration plate would be removed from the car.

Forbes asked once again why the car was being towed and police explained to her.

When police went back to the car to get the tools to remove the registration plate, Forbes started her car and fled the scene.

Police said Forbes was going around 85 mph in a 35 mph zone.

Police said Forbes went through two red light intersections, failed to maintain a lane, and nearly struck other cars.

Police said that the suspect had multiple prior arrests for interfering and resisting, operating under suspension, assault, breach of peace, violation of probation, and criminal mischief.

Forbes was later released on a $25,000 cash/surety bond and is scheduled for arraignment at Hartford Superior Court on Nov. 1.
