Back for a good cause. Just two days after saying he was "out" on Twitter after receiving backlash from both his defense of Jack Black and performance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, Jelly Roll is back - but it's for a good reason. https://twitter.com/JellyRoll615/status/1848072796871803350 The rapper turned country music superstar has had a very quick rise to fame over the past few years and his story, as pretty much everyone knows at this point, is one for the ages . After being in and out of jail for most of his life, Jelly has completely turned it around and now uses his platform to advocate for prison reform and take care of those currently incarcerated. He's
built a recording studio at the Nashville juvenile center where he spent time and visits inmates around the country constantly, proving he puts his money where his mouth is. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C_eHOgYSgR6/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_rid=dc659bc5-fceb-42eb-ac13-ae41271d714a Well, the break Jelly Roll said he was taking was called off just now (in all fairness the video went up on all of his social media platforms) saying he was buying meals for everyone who wanted one in Little Rock, Arkansas ahead of his sold-out show at the Simmons Bank Arena tonight. "In case you missed the memo, here's the short version. When I first started coming to Little Rock, Arkansas I played a place called Stickyz Chicken Shack. It had 200 people, I sold it out, I was so proud.
Next time I came I played a place called the Rev Room, right here behind me. Right next to it's a place called Gus's Chicken, we ate Gus's Chicken every time we played the Rev Room, I played that place 10 times. If you come to Gus's Chicken in Little Rock, Arkansas today the food is on me, baby, come get you a meal. This one's on me to honor our sold out show at Simmons Bank Arena. To all y'all artists playing Stickyz and playing the Rev Room... Keep playing baby, keep playing baby!" https://twitter.com/JellyRoll615/status/1848808925543419905 I understand why a lot of people get frustrated when fans answer a critique of his music with "but he's such a good guy," trust me I understand, but things like this are why that's so top of mind. Jelly Roll is always doing things to help people out, even if it's just buying some fried chicken near a venue he used to play. You've got to love it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GbXoKJqUF8

Sounds great yet from what I hear he can’t be trusted. Allegedly he announced publicly he was putting money on the books for the all the inmates in Nashville after his performance at the jail one year. Rumor has it….he never followed through.
