A 20-year-old man was arrested in Auburn after he allegedly shot another person in Puyallup early Tuesday morning.

Pierce County deputies were dispatched at 12:20 a.m. to a shooting at 176th and 93rd Avenue East. A 19-year-old man was injured from a gunshot wound to his arm, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department on Facebook.

A tourniquet was applied to the man’s arm while deputies waited for paramedics to arrive, the post said. He was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The alleged shooter was looking for his ex-girlfriend and rang the doorbell multiple times, according to the residents of the home, the post said. The alleged shooter pulled out a gun when the man answered the door. After the man closed the door, the shooter shot through the door several times. He also allegedly shot at the window upstairs before driving off in his vehicle.

There were several shell casings in the driveway, and the shooting was captured on a camera, the post said.

Auburn police officers found the alleged shooter at 2:27 a.m. He allegedly tried to drive away from them, the post said. Police detained him for Pierce County deputies at Peasley Canyon Road and West Valley Highway.

The man was arrested and booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of first-degree attempted murder and first-degree assault, the post said.
