Six people were displaced after a vehicle crashed through the bedroom wall of a Heidelberg Township home Sunday morning, just inches from where two occupants were sleeping, according to officials.

Firefighters were called to the scene on the 6700 block of York Road in Heidelberg Township around 2:21 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, according to a release from Porters Volunteer Fire Company.

When emergency crews arrived, they found an overturned vehicle that had gone off the roadway, striking the roof and side of the home, and causing what the department described as "extensive damage."

A moment of Zen: the comet!

I keep telling myself I'll get a better shot of the comet that's been gracing our skies recently, but life has a way of making you a lot busier than you expect!

Here's what I got recently on an outing to view the comet. If you haven't heard, read more about it here.

While peak viewing has passed, I've heard that you're likely to still see it around 45 minutes after sunset, looking west by southwest. Supposedly, it's still going to be visible until sometime in the beginning of November, so it should be out there somewhere!

It is pretty hard to spot, though! It took me zooming into the sky with my camera and panning across the stars in order to spot it, but once I spotted it, it was clearly visible with my own eyes.

If any of y'all have feedback, pet photos or questions, feel free to send them over to my email at hjones@gannett.com ! I will do my best to answer any questions if I can, and I will be happy to highlight any comments y'all might have.

That's it for your Wednesday Daily Briefing!
