    Schaefer back to full contact, could play Thursday at Barrie

    Otters defenseman Matthew Schaefer has moved from a red, non-contact jersey to full contact ahead of the Otters’ upcoming three games in three nights stretch.

    Schaefer has not taken the ice this regular season while battling mono.

    Otters head coach Stan Butler commented on Tuesday pre-practice about Schaefer’s status this week.

    Erie will face Barrie Thursday on the road at 7 pm before visiting Kitchener Friday at 7 and hosting the same Rangers Saturday at 7 pm.
