    Police investigating string of copper downspout thefts in Museum District

    RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Richmond Police Department is looking into a string of copper downspout thefts from buildings in the Museum District.

    The department’s Third Precinct is actively investigating several reported thefts in the area, according to an Oct. 23 Facebook post . Police provided details on one such theft, which included stills from a resident’s doorbell camera of the involved suspects.

    This theft took place at about 4:32 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct 2. According to police, two male suspects were caught on camera removing copper downspouts from a home in the 2400 block of Hanover Avenue.

    If you can identify either or both of the suspects pictured above, or if you have any information on these thefts, you are asked to call the Richmond Police Department’s Third Precinct at 804-646-1010.

    Additionally, if you live in the area, police highly recommend you review any doorbell or surveillance camera footage from around your home and report any suspicious activity you may find on those recordings.
