INDIANAPOLIS — Starting in 2025, the Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking (ICESAHT) will end its human trafficking-related initiatives.

According to a news release from the coalition, this comes after a “significant decrease” in human trafficking-related funds for services at the federal level. The human trafficking initiatives will continue through Dec. 31, 2024.

The coalition applied for but did not receive federal funding to continue coordinating statewide human trafficking services and resources starting in 2025. The release said this decision helps the coalition ensure it can implement its budget in an “uncertain environment.”

“While ICESAHT is not a direct service provider for human trafficking, we played a leading role in coordinating resources and supporting the Indiana Protection for Abused and Trafficked Humans (IPATH) task force,” Beth White, the president and CEO of the coalition, said in the release. “We remain committed to ensuring that survivors continue to receive the support they need, even as our involvement with the task force ends.”

Officials said that the coalition will continue to work with IPATH, as well as other partners, to establish a plan for coordinating human trafficking resources and services.

“In 2025, ICESAHT will take our fight for additional resources to the Indiana General Assembly,” White said. “We have built a coalition dedicated to addressing the funding gap for victim services across the state, ensuring that all survivors, including those affected by human trafficking, receive the support they need.”

The release said that the coalition’s sexual assault initiatives will continue uninterrupted.
