One of the new vendors joining the Market’s vendor line-up is the Harrisburg-based Honey Bear Ice Cream . This new vendor offers gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, and vegan ice cream products.

“Since Honey Bear first popped up with a tent in the courtyard at Broad Street Market to scoop our ice cream in July 2021, we have long imagined having a stand inside the market buildings. Much of our loyal following began here and we are honored to join its roster and become a part of the market’s rich history. We see this stand in the Stone Building as an opportunity to thank and support our local community while also attracting our customers from neighboring cities and states to visit this special, historic place,” Natalie Wallace said. “This stand will mark our first brick and mortar location for Honey Bear Ice Cream and we are elated to now finally be able to bring our dedicated gluten free, dairy free treats to customers year round.”

In addition to the new specialty ice cream vendor, a new vegan soul food eatery called Ve’Lightfully Vegan will also be joining the Market soon. The Broad Street Market says this business was recently featured in Philadelphia at Vegandale, the world’s largest touring vegan experience.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be joining this incredible market as the owner of Ve’Lightfully Vegan,” Marilyn Jackson said. “Our goal is to offer a variety of vibrant, flavor-packed, Soulful plant-based meals that everyone can enjoy, whether you are a long-time vegan or just curious about trying something new. I look forward to connecting with this community, sharing our passion for healthy, sustainable food, and making Ve’Lightfully Vegan a go-to spot for delicious, conscious eating.”

News of the two vendors coming to the Broad Street Market comes just days after the long-time seafood vendor, JB Kelly Seafood Connection, announced they would be closing their stand after 11 years of operation.

JB Kelly Seafood Connection’s last day at the Market will be November 16.

The Broad Street Market was founded back in 1860. Today, the Market is the oldest continuously operated markethouse in the United States.

It's a farmers's market, not Dairy Queen nor Walmart! Don't ruin it like the West Shore Farmer's Market ruined itself after rebuilding it!
