BEACON FALLS, Conn. (WTNH) — State police say a Wolcott woman turned herself in Wednesday after being accused of fabricating her own harassment from a cyber hacker.

Deborah Ann Caloutas, 63, was charged with:

    • Falsely reporting an incident concerning serious physical injury/death
    • Unauthorized use of a computer/other computer offenses over $2,500
    • Tampering with/fabricating physical evidence
    • Unlawful dissemination of an intimate image
    • Third-degree computer crimes

Police said her charges stem from a multi-year investigation after Caloutas and a family member reported they were being harassed by a cyber hacker.

However, police said they found Caloutas was actually the one behind the harassing material.
