The Los Angeles Dodgers will wear a uniform patch to honor Fernando Valenzuela during the World Series and throughout the 2025 season, the team announced.

The former Dodgers pitcher and broadcaster passed away Tuesday. He was 63. In his memory, the Dodgers will don he black and blue patch on their jerseys which has “Fernando” and No. 34 on it.

Valenzuela is a beloved figure of the Los Angeles community. His impact transcends beyond the mound, although he was one of the best pitchers to ever wear a Dodgers uniform.

Although he played for multiple MLB teams throughout his 17-year career, he is mostly remembered for his time with the Dodgers franchise.

In his first season in Los Angeles, he became the first player to win Cy Young and Rookie of the Year awards.
