Stadium Welcome Sign for Taylor Swift Has NFL Fans Calling For its Removal

The Taylor Swift "Eras Tour" continues to truck on at a feverish pace, with the latest set of shows slated for a three-day swing in New Orleans at the Caesars Superdome, beginning Friday, Oct. 25.

While that might seem like relatively straightforward news, and simply something that "Swifties" might take note of for possible last-minute tickets, this is Taylor Swift we are talking about here.

Rarely does anything ever fall under the category of "straightforward" when it comes the ever-growing, shining star that is Taylor Swift.

So, naturally, this brings us right back to the Caesars Superdome, home of the New Orleans Saints, a franchise gracious enough to creatively welcome the musician with a giant "Taylor Swift" bracelet that drapes the entrance side of the stadium.

Harmless? At first glance, no doubt about it.

But, as most things tend to go, it appears to depend upon who is being asked.

So, after taking one look at the Saints official feed on X, "harmless" would hardly be the way to put such a gesture.

The overall reaction from Saints fans has quickly served as a stark reminder that Swift's relationship with Travis Kelce and subsequent ties with the Kansas City Chiefs makes the impact of the welcoming "bracelet sign" outside of the Caesars Superdome run noticeably deeper than one might expect.

Among the many kind reactions—which were very much expected simply based on Swift's overwhelming popularity—the overarching football-related comments that pounce on the Saints and their inept record of 2-5 appears to be dominating the "conversation."

From the general but direct approach of saying things like "focus on football" and "TAKE THIS DOWN" to super specific, team-oriented issues like "can we use the revenue from her concert for a new medical staff," it's been made abundantly clear that fans of the Saints would prefer to break a five-game losing streak rather than throw up a vibrant welcome sign to celebrate Taylor Swift making a brief pitstop in their city.

Of all the replies, however, the following words from what sounds like a profoundly offended Saints fan is absolutely in the running as the clubhouse leader thus far :

"We’re not even a month removed from the Week 5 loss to the Chiefs……. This is horrible!"

Just when one might think they have a true grasp on the depths of NFL fandom, all they need to do is scroll through a thread like what happened here with the Saints.

Although, the one saving grace might be the person who opted to take that rare middle ground stance , simply observing that the enormous bracelet looked a lot like one of those edible candy necklaces:

"It looks like kids candy pieces hanging out from the dome."

No obvious heat in either direction. Just an innocent, funny observation.

And, frankly, an extremely welcome one at that.
