    11-year-old among 3 found dead inside Ohio home after hours-long SWAT standoff

    An 11-year-old was among the three people found dead inside a Hamilton County home after an hours-long standoff on Thursday.

    This happened in College Hill, near Springfield Township. Cincinnati Police were called out to a home on Springbrook Drive shortly before 8:30 a.m. for an “unknown trouble at this location,” according to our news partners at WCPO .

    When officers got to the scene, they learned there was a man, later identified as Anthony Mathis, 66, armed with a knife inside the home.

    After an hours-long SWAT standoff and negotiations, police were able to take Mathis into custody.

    As WCPO reported, Mathis was suffering from self-inflicted stab wounds and was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

    Police found three people inside dead with stab wounds. They later identified the victims as Patricia McCollum, 78, DJ McCollum, 32, and Cadence McCollum, 11.

    Information on the victims’ relationship with Mathis was not immediately available.
