ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) — From the actors to the costumes and decor, Doomsday Haunted Attraction will make visitors feel as if they’ve taken a step back in time and been planted in a town out of their worst nightmares.

The story goes that this town is war-torn and was quarantined after a massive explosion of the nuclear variety. Almost immediately after stepping foot on the outdoor trail, tourists see human-animal hybrids ready to tell their cautionary tales, and these actors commit to the bit! We were locked in for the entirety of our 45-minute tour at Doomsday .

    Let’s call this one…Ben’s Revenge!

We’re told the attraction has added 50% more frights through their new additions (you’ll have to visit to see those!)

Before the cast is ready to terrorize its first round of victims, they enter the set on a World War II-era truck for the Doomsday March, complete with a flamethrower and fireworks. Then, the adventure begins.

Up the hill near the entrance, guests will find a handful of merchants, snacks and other side activities like the Jail Blaster. Prepare for maximum Orbeez flying your way.

Perhaps the most important thing you’ll see is the hurricane bin sitting right underneath the iconic Doomsday arch. The staff is teaming up with two other haunted houses, Arx Mortis and Sweet Dreamz to collect items for victims of recent natural disasters.

They are taking donations of toiletries, shower supplies, feminine hygiene products, nonperishable snacks, new socks and unused underwear, medications, gas cards and gift cards. If you bring a gas or gift card, you’re asked to let an employee know so they can add it to a secure envelope.

At the end of the season, all of the donations will be loaded into a box trailer and taken to some of the most impacted areas after Hurricane Helene.

Doomsday will also be open for one night in December for the Twisted Christmas toy drive. If you bring a toy valued at about $20, you can enter the haunt for free.

Doomsday Haunted Attraction is located at 24952 US 72 in Athens, about 5 minutes off of I-65. It is open 7-11 p.m. every Friday and Saturday through November 2.
