(FOX40.COM) — Calls from a concerned co-worker and neighbor in Stanislaus County resulted in the discovery of a dead male and female in Modesto on Thursday morning, according to the Modesto Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to a home on Citrus Drive at 9:42 a.m. after a person reported their female co-worker had not shown up for work and a neighbor reported not seeing her for several days.

Body recovered below Lookout Point in Butte County

Upon arriving at the home, officers forced entry and found a deceased 17-year-old male with a gunshot wound.

The female was found nearby and declared deceased with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A handgun was found nearby.

As the investigation is ongoing, officers are withholding the names of the victims, but say there are no outstanding suspects.
