Bucs vs. Falcons Week 8 How to Watch, Betting Odds

It's Creamsicle week as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are stuck between a rock and a hard place this week while dealing with injuries to their top two wideouts, and the only guy who can pry them free is offensive coordinator Liam Coen.

Coen has rejuvenated the offense this season - especially the league's works rushing attack from a year ago, and now he's tasked with somehow keeping the offense rolling without maybe half its production in the game.

“Yeah, it brings new challenges , but also new opportunities and guys need to step up,” Coen said, via the team’s website. “We obviously need to get more creative in some different ways. What it looks like exactly, we’re still trying to formulate and figure out so a great opportunity for some guys. It’s hard, anytime you lose your two guys that have obviously produced a lot for you, so that’s a challenge, but it’s great for some guys to get a new opportunity.”

The Bucs' short-handed offense will meet a Falcons defense that ranks 17th allowing 336.1 yards per game and 22nd in the league with 24.9 points allowed per contest.

Last week, Atlanta was owned by the Seahawks, 34-14, and Seattle completely shut down the Falcons offense. The Bucs are coming off an embarrassing 41-31 decision against the Ravens in a game where Tampa Bay lost both leading receivers, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

Tampa Bay needs this game to keep pace with the Falcons, who have already beaten the Bucs in Week 5 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. A sweep by the Falcons and a one-game deficit might be too much to overcome for the Bucs in the race for a fourth straight NFC South title and fifth consecutive postseason berth.

The Bucs will have their work cut out for them and points will be at a premium.
