As the Detroit Lions work the phones to try and bring in an edge rusher ahead of the trade deadline, speculation has run rampant about who the team could possibly bring in.

Of course, fans are rightly hoping for a huge splash, because that's exactly what it'll take for the Lions to replace the kind of production the team is losing in the wake of the season-ending injury to Aidan Hutchinson.

We've seen fans and analysts throw around dream trade scenarios for star players, like Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby and Cleveland Browns edge rusher Myles Garrett, either of whom would be an amazing addition.

While it remains to be seen if either player will even be available at the deadline, sportsbooks think the Lions are among the favorites to land either Crosby or Garrett if their teams are willing to part ways with them.

According to Sportscasting.com , the Lions are tied for the second-best odds with the Chicago Bears to trade for the Browns star. Topping the list as the favorite are the Green Bay Packers. Rounding out the top five are the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders.

Also per Sportscasting.com , Detroit is considered the favorite for Crosby, followed by the Bears, Packers, Vikings and Cincinnati Bengals.

Unfortunately for Lions fans, neither Garrett nor Crosby are likely to be dealt based on what both players have said.

Crosby has said on multiple occasions that he doesn't want to go anywhere, including earlier this week on his podcast. On top of that, Raiders owner Mark Davis has also said Crosby isn't going to be traded.

"But I want to be here," Crosby said about the trade talk ahead of the deadline. "I want to be Silver and Black. I’ll say it loud and clear, I want to be a Raider. I’ve said that over and over and over again.”

Garrett wasn't as emphatic about his chances of being traded, but clearly stated that he expects to remain in Cleveland: “I’ll be playing here,” Garrett said .

At the end of the day, Garrett and Crosby both deserve better than the dumpster fire situations they're in, and the Lions would be a perfect landing spot for them. However, it remains unlikely that either will be moved ahead of Nov. 5, but that won't stop us from dreaming.
